This is Moose' area of expertise, but I can tell you:

If you want to ride the rail trail/Ski area/Mica Mine trails you can park behind the Burger King in Claremont or behind the Youth Center on Belknap Road in Newport.

Moose will have to give you the secret address for the Cathole trails....

Yeah Moose would be the guy to follow up there. If I'm around in November I'd love to go. I've never been to the Cathole side.

Moose: I had actually read from the guys on ATV Alliance that they were able to connect both sides by "driving slowly up the road to Cathole Road...". I hope they don't get more areas shut down! Also, if you think about heading up there before November, please let me know. I have wanted the guided tour ever since I missed hooking up with you last October on the blizzard trip!

I've talked with the President of SCATV and they said there isn't any legal connector up to Cathole Road. They were trying to get the town to okay riding up the edge of Veterans Park Drive to Cathole Rd. and on to the parking area but the word right now is that it isn't technically open and you could get a ticket for riding on the roads.

More than likely that I'll be able to go. Weekends are going to start being better for me soon anyhow. Mother has to go on kidney dialysis and needs a ride back and forth.

Wow i wasnt expecting these kinds of responses to my post, i figured most would be putting away the quad once November arrives. It would be great to have you guys up there for a nice ride...even better to have a guide since i have no clue where im going.

Moose...sorry to hear about your mother, hope she gets better soon.

Don't know about anyone else other than a handful of the guys, but we ride all year round except for staying off trails that are closed for mud season.

Barring a miracle, my mother will not get better. She basically has the choice of doing dialysis every other day or dying. I'm glad she's hanging around a while longer. A week ago it was sounding like she didn't want to do the dialysis at all. Now she's asking if I'll take her.

it is a harsh reality when our parents get sick, all we can do is spend some time with them because you never know when the time will be done.
