You only have to go 70 miles. The closest one to me is Gladwin and it's not that great so I usually go 120 miles to get to decent trails. I don't want to be a dick about it but you just have to get used to it, or ride private land.

I'm not a MI resident or native but on a trip there last year to visit my mother-in-law's family I drove by the trail at Indian River and I've seen some videos of it as well and now I regret not taking a day and renting a unit and seen what it was for myself. If I go back I'm going to try to do that.

Drummond Island, Michigan has over 117 miles of trails... just be forwarned it is Rock but the views are amazing. Although far from GR. I kinda understand not wanting to drive because gas $$ but there's so much more out there than what you'd find in your back yard! Priceless!

Drummond Island is the only place in the state that I saw on a map it was rated for experienced riders only. I've never been there, it's a solid 5 hour drive from home, but I've been to some other UP trails and my plan was to ride every trail in the state. I gave up on it but there are still some around Kalkaska that I'd like to try.
