This thank you goes out to any and all A@#$holes who seem to have the need to drink beers and ride atv's and throw your beer bottles everywhere. To all the jerks who take thier 30 year old Chevys and dump them in the woods, or just the idiots who dont realize a good thing when they have it and ruin it for everyone else. IF the NJ guys dont know what I'm talking about then you will be in for a big suprise next time you go to Forked river.

Though I don't remember much about NJ (born there a long time ago) I understand what you mean. There are slobs out here too who flip paper, bottles etc out the window of their 4wd truck as they're cruising backwoods logging roads. You assume they come out to the country to appreciate the beauty of it, but that assumption must be wrong. It's the same mindless crap as expressed by the kids in another post who take pride in running from cops and hardening public opposition to ATVing.
There's enough lies and distortion from the antis and the media without giving them genuine ammunition. Pretty soon all we'll be able to do is sit on our toys in the garage.

hey mooch, dont say that sit on our toys in our garage, cause I live in Nj I currently own a kdx 220 and will own a almost brand new banshee that i have shelled out or will shell out big bucks for these 2 machines. Not much land left where I live,so this really pisses me off when it could come down to that.here in Somerset county ,they voted in the open land act, raise our taxes to save the land from being developed.Only thing is every time I turn around there is 5 more housing developments or golf courses. They dont want to save Sh*t only thing they want is the godamn money and use the environmental BS against us.I get spurned because I shell out big bucks for my love and sport and a golf course is more important than opening up more land for us.My kdx costs more than a set of any big bertha clubs.Im not gonna sit on my bike in the garage that I got hard earned money in,I dont care I'll ride it down the street because these damn people have no right to tell me I cant ride especially when we all put out big money for this sport. It is time if our sport is doing so well for the atv mfgs to start buying up land like they bought up all our maple and beef farms over here,or all the machines they say will be big expensive boat anchors with homicidal owners, cause i know I'll be 1 raped ape if it happens.

I know how you feel Sugarhead but Gooch is right because this time it was the private landowner who closed his property off because of the idiots, those idiots are fellow riders who dont give a damm and maybe only pick this sport up for a year or two, i dont know. But your right on about this state, IT SUCKS, this must be the most unfriendly atv state in the Nation. They take my money to register my quad then there is NO STATE land to ride on. Read these facts, I'll paste them from another webs site. THIS WILL REALLY **** OFF ANY ATV RIDER IN NJ.
Fact: The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection which controls New Jerseys State Parks and Forests and controls Wildlife Management areas in New Jersey has passed rules that state no ATVs are permitted in wildlife management areas and No ATVs are permitted in State parks or forests by passing these rules the D.E.P. has eliminated use of ATVs on any public land in NJ

Fact: New Jerseys Division of Motor Vehicles advertises if you register and insure your A.T.V. you may ride it on public lands and waters. This coincides with state law that states you must register and insure your ATV to be able to ride it on public lands and waters in New Jersey.
FACT: There is no State Trail System nor state funding program for public off-highway recreational vehicle trails in The State of New Jersey. With your help, we want to change this situation.
The information below was taken right from the NJ DMV it states how many ATV users paid to register their ATVs in 1998 and how much money the state of New Jersey got from registration fees in 1998

ATV Resident 1,961 @ $19,610

ATV Non-Resident 9 @ $108

and yet the state still does not provide any legal riding areas for us, where does these funds go?

Here is that link, Join and help the fight to ride!!!!! http://www.angelfire.com/nj/cbamm/

hey sugarhead:

Your misunderstanding of my post was sure manly and macho, in fact I think you should go before the Somerset City Council at their next meeting and tell them that same stuff. I'm sure they'd be impressed by your reasoned approach to the problem, and would recognize your right to do whatever you want with your ATV because it cost a lot of money.

Gooch I made that post because I am frustrated and its time people take a stand and stop sitting on there asses smoking weed and complaining.Ya dont live in Nj so ya cant possibly understand the situation here.Danyeo ya said it was private property, you and your freinds who take this sport serious. My suggestion to you talk to the land owner apologize for them yahoo magilla gorilla idiots. Then ask him if your friends were to pay him a fee monthly to ride and you would patrol the trails and keep them clean.he might just let a few people who are caring enough and sincere enough who are paying him residual income to ride. And then ya better be serious about the up keep of it and patrolling of it.If I had alot of serious atv friends I might just roll down to town hall and do that as what do I have to lose,I havent broken a damn law speaking my rights.Danyeo oh I'm gonna be a rider for as long as I can, cause I am single and when i do meet my wife,gf if she dont want me riding oopps too bad I'll keep the quad and get rid of the woman, lol >

sugarhead, I'm glad you cooled off some. I didn't mean to imply I fully understood all of your problem, just the impact slobs had on our dwindling image. But I understand enough that I'm very glad to live here instead of NJ or most states in the area. I grew up in Florida which back in the fifties was a true southern state--at least from Okeechobee up. 15 yrs ago I started taking my boys squirrel hunting in N. Fl around Cross City near the Suwannee R. Every year for the next 5yrs there were more houses, more bulldozed oaks, more crap in the woods. Thinking you were "outdoors" became more of an illusion every year, the crack of a .22 more out of place. But Florida, even now, must be better than NJ. And I'm not knocking it, all my family is from the Garden State. I remember it having many beautiful places back in the fifties, it no doubt still does. (There were a lot of woods around East Brunswick--is there any more?)
I understand enough to know I'd never live anywhere close to the east coast again. I may also partially understand how far this country has fallen in the last thirty years, especially the last eight. How, for instance, can we yawn at 80+ people being systematically besieged and deliberately incinerated by "our" government at Waco, and the falsifying of evidence afterward? Or a nearly-born baby having its brains sucked out by a "physician" simply because it would be inconvenient for it to live. What would leftist icon Franklin Roosevelt have called a society like that in 1938? (Hint: it's got four letters and begins with "N") Yes, money runs the country, but now it comes from Hollywood--the radical left and the homosexual agenda. We can't wage a fair public relations war because the media is as corrupt as Clinton, and too many people watch Tom Brokaw.
So your problem is a bad one, and I don't live there. But it's just another symptom of the general cancer that's eating the heart out of the country. I think the people who lived 230 yrs ago might have a suggestion for a fix. But are there enough people as frustrated as us to take the hint? Is it even possible anymore?

Gooch,Like I said I was sorry about my over reacting.my family heavily agrees w what ya think, like how is abortion not considered murder, what do ya think we all were at 1 time, theyve taken prayer out of school but every time something happens they miss the mark totally.I said to my mom why is everything like it is,she said it wasnt always like this and that this country has lost total control,She would say continue to live your life for the lord cause the lord is in control and is passing judgement on this country,in a way whatever ya believe,it seems true and I can believe that. Also What ya said about the wetlands, well here in meadowland north jersey they wanted to put in a big riverboat casino and racetrack, same w floridas homes and building.Isnt wetlands off limit, they wont let us ride but they'll build homes and casinos that forever destroy the terra firma forever, kids look that 1 up lol.I try to live a clean honest life but I want to have my fun and it just seems the rich people run this country, the media has brainwashed the crap out of the public making them think everything thats done wrong is right like cloning and abortion.Look at the laws if I get busted drunk driving or breaking the law Im gonna pay hard, now look at cops politicians or the rich echelons they serve no time at all.Today me and my bro saw a state trooper make an illegal right hand turn,no problem now if me or you did that forget it he would of given us hell for it.I'm not against law enforcement and we have our fair of problems such as racial profiling which in some ways some cops are bad but for the most part isnt it the people who are foreigners the 1s breaking the laws. I could scream and yell all day and at this point I just wanna work pay my bills, have good family fun, ride my bikes and quads and leave me the bleep alone.1 more thing 1 of our family friends he had a summer house in NY state and a big bear quad, well I asked a friend who knows them does ucle lester still have his quad.My bud, godmoms son said no lester got sick of the mobile homes they built around him and sold everything, turns out he wasnt getting away from the suburbs which is pretty sad.My aunt lives in inlet ny they wanted to pull a yellowstone, take every 1s house and leave em hanging to turn it into protected wilderness fortunately people shut them down at the source. They are still trying to regulate sno mobiles, this is ridiculous,is this Russia,i think bill clinton was putins butt buddy, because this country is being run like a dictatorship.I appluase Bush for undoing all of this BS and hes getting all hell and no appreciation,Same w the kyoto treaty, all these other countrys are against us.We should just forget them,we dont need them and thats 1 of the reasons weve gone from #1 to like # 25,we got to involved in other countrys instead of being worried about all the bs here.and if some 1 doesnt like what ive said ya can Kiss my @**
