I'm going to be in Durango area this summer. Is it worth taking the quads. Are the forest service roads open to ATV's?? Is the place ATV friendly. Any info is appreciated!!

YZGUY, I think it's kinda quad friendly and should be places to ride. You may have to Jett your Quad though, I remember the air is thin. When I was younger I thought I could just take off running on foot 3-4 miles in the mountains, I about died and the local sheriff saw me hacking on the side of the road and gave me a ride back to my hotel. It's a nice place though and Chamber of commerce will give you the scoop. There are some actual working gold mines that are off limits but there were some beautiful places to ride north of Durango and some ghost towns worth a look off of the Millon dollar highway. Don't forget to post your photo's and have a good time.
