Default 2019 St Helen ORV Super JAM....Join me!!

My kids can't get the time off, and they were hoping to make it back this year. Looking for a ridder/camper to join me for this weekend Aug 9-11. or tell someone you might know riding alone. Great time, and trails are always in good shape, just before the event, groomed real well! Hope to reach out to someone that finds themselves riding/camping alone, for that weekend or just about any time is good for me, being retired, for trips either there or anywhere in the state of Michigan. Hoping to join up with one other person, closer my age, over 50 please, to have more in common and helps to keep trail dust down to a minimum. Get with me and lets ride!! Visit my facebook page/timeline, thanks, Steve Grinke

Found a friend to ride/camp with during St Helen ORV Jam, but still open to ride most any other time, even during the week, and would be also open to try other trail systems through the state. Get in touch and let's ride!

Hey Steve, neighbor went to maumee state forrest they are allowing machines up to 62" wide and hve added many more miles of trails. Not ideal but close enough to make a 1 day trip out there.

wow that is great news! will there be a charge to use trails? Last time I was there, it was just a single loop, about a mile long.

No charge other than Ohio apv permit. Neighbor says many trees gone from a tornado a few years back. They have added new trails and just like up north the public has added many of there own takeoff trails. Jeff and his wife spent about 5-6hrs and did not cover it all. Will be heading out there to check it out here soon.

Ours is a small license plate like a motorcycle uses, we get them from the DMV like you would your car. Not sure if Ohio will accept the mich registration or not. I know mich does not accept ohio. You may have to look it up or call the ohio dmv.

If you are visiting Ohio from another state where your vehicle is registered, you won't need to register your vehicle in Ohio. Your registration from your home state and valid driver's license are all need. If you are an Ohio resident, your ATV will need to be titled and registered every three years . Although you will be issued a license plate and validation decals for your ATV when you register it, the plate does not entitle you to drive your ATV on public roadways.

So does this mean Mi. res. only need lic. and proof of ownership to be legal to ride?

This is what a club member had to say about Maumee trails, yet still sounds good to me.

I don’t know what’s it’s like in the last year or so I only live about 10 miles away from maumee state forest last time I was there it was tight for my rhino and less than 15 miles of trails

I cant say for sure on the permits, call them or check website. 15 miles of trails sounds about right, used to be less than 5 all total. Not a mecca but somewhere close to play for a day!
