Taking a weeks vacation from the 22nd of June thru the 1st of July. Have property minutes from the Little Manistee, Lincoln Hills, Tin Cup trails (not the best, but plenty of miles). We are also minutes away from the best canoeing on the Pine River (no permit required). Rustic, but nice. My riding partner is having back surgery soon, and I'd like to make sure he doesn't miss out on the summer, like I did last year. We plan on riding Black Lake, and Drummond Island during the week. If anybody's in the area, or would like to ride, it would be great to hook up. We're also interested in the Kalkaska trails, never been there, and noone's ever commented on them. Don't forget the xx annual Flea Roast, Ox market in Irons, it's the weekend of the 22nd.

Dusty, I was curious how the trails are over there, when I raced enduros back in the late 70's and early 80's we had a few races over by White cloud and Manistee, I was curious how the trails were on that side of the state? I remember Kalkaska as being quite sandy and pretty trails if you stay along the loops off of M72.

Was up in Luther and did the Cup,Manistee and Lincoln the first of June last year; never seen trails so whooped up in such a short time. My girlfriend's first trip;was glad she rode a machine with IRS. Do you know the best place to put in on the Pine to enjoy it the most? Really wanted check out Black Lake this year and would be just as curious about Kalkaska as well as N. Missaukee. Let me know how your trip went if you have the time; just down the road in the zoo(Hicksburg).

Thanks for the invite, Scott emailed me about going riding again sometime, he was the one on the honda that wanted to try his front guards on the tree at full speed in gladwin, if you dont have his email address I have it still. As far as me going on the poker run with you guys, I would love it, but being I work for THE GENERAL, its the end of the downtime for us, being a engineer I am expected to get my stuff done, so I cant go. Also Bill M's family get together is that weekend in Mio/Luzerne so I would hate to miss that if I wasnt working in the first place. Keep me posted on any more future rides though,

Well i did tell the wife i was taking a trip for the weekend sometime this year......hmmmm.
Sounds like a good excuse for me to achieve two things: 1) my weekend trip & 2) U.P. riding [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]
Plus i would rather go with a veteran rider of this 2nd annual did i hear that correct.

Anyways,
I had planned on leaving early on Thursday the 12th and there are a ton of motels up there,we can get one when we arrive.It takes about 5+ hrs from Flint to get there.We can get set up when we arrive and do a little riding afterwords?The Poker run starts on Friday morning and ends on Saturday evening.We will head home on early Sunday morning.We are able to ride our ATVs from most Motels in the U.P.


If you'd like to go,I suggust that we ride together[I have a trailor]and we can get a double room for around 40$ per day/night.This is my second time for this poker run in as many yrs.We had a blast last yr and we will be riding with some more friends like we did in Gladwin.If you'd like to go,let me know,I'll get your phone # and we can set up arrangements,
