Let's put it this way....... I live in Connecticut and I flew out to Glamis in 1997..... Since that day I have been addicted to sand. Tho I have never ridden up your way...... Glamis is just one of those places that you HAVE to visit at least once in your life... I plan on going back as soon as I can work it into my schedule, and get a bike together for the wife. SO to answer your question..... YES!

Well....let me start by saying......YEEEEEESSSSSSS!!!!!

Glamis is incredible. It's a 3 hour drive for me, and I can't wait until October when the season starts again to get out there and play. If you go on a big weekend, and you go to the Glamis side, you are in for one hell of a wild party. I mean, it's getting a little too wild these days, alot of people get hurt out there due to drinking and riding, etc, but you have to see it at least once!

You can go to the Gordon's Well side, and it's a little more mellow. Camping is much less crowded, and the people are much more interested in riding the dunes than partying. I have always camped at Gordon's Well, and there is a Wall there that we always ride to at night to see the drags! Quite spectacular - all those nitrus-running rails, and hopped up EVERYTHING! What a light show! Out at the dunes, night riding is just as popular as day riding! Usually people out running around until 2am or so!

Check out the site www.glamisonline.org - that has info on Glamis as well as a great forum about the ISDRA (where Glamis is). If you do a search for Glamis, you will also find a couple of more very good web sites about it.

Anyways, don't go now - waaaaaayyyyyy too hot. I think Halloween is the first big weekend, Thanksgiving is usually VERY big, then New Years, Presidents Day, I think Labor Day is in there somewhere. And then any off weekend from end of October to about end of March is good, too, if you don't care so much about the parties and just want to ride!

If you're into dunes, while you're down here you might as well hit Dumont and Pismo too! You could just make a big circle and hit them all.

I know you have already heard, bu tI love GLAMIS SSOO much I had to give my 2 cents worth. GO TO GLAMIS and plan for atleast 3 or 4 days of riding at the minimum. I am from Indiana and went out there and there is no riding area in North America that is better. Take some caution tape to marl off your camp site and it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a police light or something remarkable on top of your trailer to find it...there is alot of people there.

ALL HAIL TO GLAMIS!
