Plan on at least 2 days for riding, Even at that you wont cover a fraction, You can camp anywhere at the trail heads and parking areas for free or you can go to camp ohio or williams campground for 7 or 8 bucks a day, Its a great place definetly the best place ive ever been, it has alot of different terrain and is definetly worth the 2 1/2 hours it takes me to get there. If you need directions to the camp grounds e-mail me and I can send you some directions and where you can buy your permits ;

Kodiak Amy----- Hope to meet you, if you make it down on 8/18--8/19.
I have ridden this area for 20 yrs. In my opinion, it is Ohio's BEST place to ride. I am not familiar with PA., but have heard there is some good riding in the mtns. WNF is in the foothills of the Appalachian Mtns. It hasit all. Mud Bogs, challenging hills, fast ridge-back trails, and some VERY tight, technical trails--esp. in the Long Ridge loops. In my opinion it is worth your effort, just to experience the area.
If you need a place to stay, there are 3 motels(that come to mind) within 30 min. of Dorr-Run trail head(s). For camping, I would recommend Camp Ohio on Greendale Rd. and SR595. The owner, Scott, is very nice guy. Showers are acceptable, as are bathrooms. I want to make it clear that I am describing Wayne Nat'l Forest area near Logan/Nelsonville OH. There is another section of WNF that is near Ironton/Jackson OH., I am NOT familiar with this area.
email if you need more info, Mike.

Thanks for the info guys. Hubby delivers chicken to the KFC in Logan, and he's always seeing the signs for the forest. We're curious as to what kind of riding there is out there, and he brought it up last night that maybe we should go. I'll give him the info and see what he says. About the permits, do we EACH have to have one? Or is one good enough for both of us? Hope to see you all there.

Daily passes are $5 each per person or a year long pass is 25 per person. I m not sure about out of state riders but we have to have an Ohio registration stiker on our atv's, You'll probably have to call the ranger station in Athens to find out about that
