Guess I'll reply to my own post, then.
Had a GREAT time in WNF. Trails were rutted, dusty though. I was surprised to see that there was NOT as many people riding as I had expected.
No major crashes. No break-downs, just two solid days a riding!
RubiconBob and I saw a Copperhead snake about 10ft. from my tent on Sat. afternoon!
We'll be back next w.e.----Most likely for just a day. No camping next w.e.
My (newbie) girlfriend is progressing very well, learning to ride her new Recon. I believe that she will be ready to go with me to Hatfield/McCoy trails in Oct.
Ride Safe, Mike.

Mike

Glad to see you had a safe weekend. I think the ruts at Wayne will always be there. Kinda part of the challenge of riding there. I wouldn't advertise too much about the snake, I think they actually may be protected (not sure though). You replied to my post about Wayne in the "Time". I posted it in both places. Later

Hi 4-man-s/trx450
I was wondering if you will be at WNF this wkend July 21st 2001. I am really looking forward to riding the trails again , as I have not been there since we tried to figure out which parking lot was #3. We did adopt a trail at WNF. I tried to get in touch with Mike S. but he has not gotten back with me. We will be at William's or Parking lot #3 on Fri evening I'll let you know, want to ride all day Sat.

TRAILWARRIOR-- I'll keep you posted. Still not POSITIVE where we will go. Last w.e., we camped at Parking/Traihead #5 in Dorr-Run loops. I think, if we ride WNF Logan, we'll park at Williams'. We usually park at the mouth of the drive in to the campgrounds, right near the trailhead. If there, we'll have a black F-350 Dually Ford Super Duty with red flat bed trlr. and a 96 F-150 S.B. Reg. cab, forest green metallic, with black 5X7' trlr.
There is a (slim) chance that we will ride the Telegraph Trails, starting near Jackson/Oak-Hill OHIO area. Most likely will ride WNF-Logan.
Oh, yeah, I want to go on SAT.7/21, BUT I have to take a poll!

T/W-- We'll try to be at the intersection of the Dorr-Run Loop and the ORANGE trail at Parking lot #3 at 9;30am. You know the spot, where we all took a break and were talking about GPS and certifying to instruct the safety courses. I think this spot is JUST SOUTH of p.l.#3. We'll wait there until 9;45am, then start riding that ORANGE trail that takes off to the S.E.(I think) we should be in the area for about an hour, doing that loop. Then we will come back to the spot we are to meet, and take D.R. loop in a N.E. direction for a while, to more side trails. Hope that doesn't confuse you too much. You DO know that camping is FREE at these WNF parking areas, right? No facilities, other than toilets though.
If you get this before 3;00pm Fri 7/20, Send a private message, I'll give you my cell #. We'll also be on FRS Channel #1, while riding. No sub-channel.
I just sent(privately) my phone #'s check your messages for this forum---Later,Mike.
