ORV sticker is $16.25, motor vehicle permit (also required) is $4.00 per day. Get your flag across the street at David Allen Racing for about $18. The weekend we were there people with flags from other vendors were being denied entrence because the shafts were too flexible. Riders are also required to carry their drivers licenses at all times. This was being enforced. There is no sound checks this year, but they area passing out an orange sheet at the guard shack with minimal details for next year, including a change in the voucher system for the busier weekends. Try to bring all the gas you will need in cans to avoid having to buy any at DAR. They were getting $2.00 a gallon for Torco 93 octane, and that was the cheapest stuff (and lowest octane) they carry. They do have a decent sale on this years riding gear though.

We had 10 or so days over 90 degrees this year, so it does get hot. However, the dunes are on the Lake Michigan shore with prevailing westerly winds, so its usually not too bad. Plus who's usually sitting still?[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif[/img] The ideal setup is to have a 4x4 pickup and carry your quads in and park on the beach, like the picture I will E-mail you. It's worth the drive, but becomes addicting.

Will have a Blue/Grey Chevy Tahoe w/ a Enclosed 8X12 Red/White Snowmobile trailer.

I just hope the weather holds out. Looks like it will be in the mid 30's for Sat and Sunday.

Hey Jeff & Tim, I dont believe I will make the trip, was planning on going to ride the "Meadows" just West of Mio (9 miles). Me and my son (Rich) will park at Ma Deeter's (bar/restaurant in Luzerne) parking lot @ 9:30 a.m.(get breakfest and head out) riding to the Meadows campground (about 20+ miles). Then we are driving to the south loop of Bull Gap trail, Goddars (Maltby Hills area for the same). Have a good time, too bad I'll miss out, sounds like fun .....

Looks like I should be able to make it.Will try to get there very early saturday morning or late friday night.. Tim any help on directions would be great. I will be coming from cleveland Ohio area. Any hotels near riding areas? Any imput from all of you that have been there would be appreciated. I am a dune virgin... Any one know the theft rate of quads locked down in the back of trailers? (LOL) Thanks in advance..

Here's the directions for you guys coming out of Ohio. If anyone has a better route please post.

Take your favorite route to Toledo. US-23 North to I-96 West. Take I-96 West until it ends at US-31 in Muskegon then take US 31 North to Mears Michigan.
