Silver Lake Sand Dunes, Michigan, Sat. October 27th

Sure would like to but I'm booked up the rest of the month. We were there the first weekend this month (4th-7th) and had a blast. Thursday the 4th was dead, us (two quads) and two dirt bikes had the whole place. Not even any DNR. Friday night (the 6th), winds kicked up to about 60 mph and smoothed eveything out for Saturday. Saturday, drivers license REQUIRED to ride, said it has been the law all along, just never enforced. They were also refusing people whose flag shafts were "too flexible". The winds Saturday were about 35 mph so the flags were pretty bent just sitting still. The DNR said that flags from David Allen Racing would pass any test. The high winds wrecked the beach, too many puddles, but kept the rest of the dunes super smooth even though there were quite a few people there. Have a great time.

Hey, we were there 7 -9th. It was so windy Tues. morn you could lean forward on the top of test hill and the wind would hold you up. I think I still have sand in my teeth!! Dunes were kinda freaky with eroded wet spots that looked like rock formations.

Tim-
I'm taking my motor home so we have a place to take a break and eat. Look for a tan class C Ford (van frontend)It will either have my quad trailer or a big red utility trailer hooked on behind. I hope you can make it.

Use a maping program like map quest and get directions to mears, michigan. Make sure your machine is under 94 db and it must have a flag. I don't know if your required to have a Michigan ORV sticker, maybe someone else would. To far off to really have a good idea on the weather. We ride rain or shine. If you make it look me up. Our group will have a silver Grizz 660, red Scrambler 400 and hopefully a WARRIOR and Honda 250r three wheeler. Ford motor home.

You will need the sticker. It was $16-17 this year. Sound levels will not be enforced until next season (that'll be a mess...). I sincerly doubt they be doing any "test" checking this late in the season. Wear your long johns!!! Have fun guys!
