Ocotillo Wells
#2
I just went to Ocotillo a couple of weeks ago for the first time. We camped at a place called The Cove. The Cove is nice because you get shelter from the direct sun in early evening. I didn't take a shower but I'm sure they are located near the store. There is a campground by the store with RV hook ups. Get yourself a map and check out the Gas Domes and Pumpkin Patch. After only one trip that's all the info I can give you. I think YZGUY has been there more often and will probably give some good info.

Hey, we're going there next weekend!! Search Ocotillo Wells in www.hotbot.com and you'll find several web sites that have info and maps (desert USA site has trail map). The Cove is my favorite camping area. The canyon to the west of the Cove is great fun, and you can go over the hill to Blow Sand Hill, and race up the dune. There is water, showers (bring quarters), and maps at the ranger station, and pretty nice pit toilets in the campgrounds.
