Is the plan to drop off in Danbury and take the Gandy to Nemadji?

I just plan on riding the WI trails and forget the MN trails. The way it sounds, anything that isn't a "desiganted trail" for atv's is quite possibly going to be closed.

I've been to Nemadji alot in the last year. Guess I have always ridden on the trails that are on the offical DNR map. Only know of a couple that arn't and they are really bad. More like snowmobile trails. Winch city. Mud is only fun for so long......

There are new ride updates for the ride in Nemadji in another thread. The trails around Danbury are closed since there is no longer snow to be groomed and there is only 1 designated wheeler trail that is a summertime trail only. As it stands, the ride is a go.

Ok, I dont mean to sound like a goof, but you mean the snowmobile trails are closed since theres no snow. SO that means they are all open to ATV at this time??

I was told by the Rangers office in Burnett County that the snowmobile trails are closed (to ATV's) due to lack of snow. They are only allowed while there is enough snow to be groomed. They also told me that there are no other trails open to atv's in the Danbury area until the summertime and there is inly 1 designated trail. On the same note, they tried to refer me to the county parks dept to see if there are logging roads open for riding, but it's getting way to political to find a place to ride these days so I deicded it's not worth the effort to go somewhere that I'm not familiar with. With the hype in St. Paul about the damage we (allegedly) create, the last thing I want to do is be somewhere I don't belong.

Be at Banning Junction at the cafe if your getting breakfast by 8 a.m., otherwise, you could just shoot up to the parking lot at the bar in Nickerson and the rest should show by 9-9:30.
