Riding in Ontario Canada
#1
Trying to plan a trip for this spring and need some info.
I`ve looked at many of the places on the net but all of them are in the far north west corner of Ontario. This be 10 to 12 hr drive for us a bit long. Does anyone know of anything closer to NY say 3 or 4 hrs from Toronto or Watertown, NY? We would like someplace challenging without too much road riding.
Thanks in advance for any info!!!
P.S. We all ride Scramblers.

Try Turkey Point and St Williams near Lake Erie, it's about 1.5 hours from Niagara Falls. Ganaraska Forest east of Toronto...close to Peterborough is a pay to use area, great for a day ride.
There are lots of areas further north on Crown land, but maybe too far for you.
There is also a listing of Ontario clubs at http://www.ofatv.org/
You can also try http://www.oftr.org
but I think they are more motorcycle oriented.
I'm not sure if the new legislation has been put in place, but up until recently off road plated vehicles (and yes you need a plate and insurance)were not allowed to use road right-of-ways to connect trails. Again check http://www.oftr.org. They are most likely to have up to date info on the legalities of off road riding in Ontario.
Hope this helps.
