Flooding closes Iron Co. , WI. trails indefinitely
#2
Official release:
The release from the Iron County Forestry Department states: Due to extreme flooding and drainage situations, the Iron County ATV trail system will be closed until further notice. Unsafe riding conditions may exist on any, and all ATV trails in the county. High water and washed out culverts prevent field crews from examining the conditions of the trails. We are currently in a situation where bridges, culverts and ditches may be completely destroyed and the access along the trails is limited or impossible, even for inspection. We will be inspecting trails and forestry road as soon as time and conditions allow.

I talked to the person involved with the ATV trails at the Hurley Chamber of Commerce, she said the trails would be open possibly in 2 weeks.
P.S John we gotta hook up and have lunch. I've been working so much that I have'nt had a chance to answer your email. It should slow down here at work this week.

The zoo vu!
Lived here almost 40 years and never been. Every once in a great while I'm FORCED to entertain a client at the 'maid or cow palace; unfortunately afterwards, the pure shame of it all overcomes me.......................

When I lived in St Jo I used to take my District managers to the Cow palace for "Stress relief." It has been a long time. It sounds like most of the trails in Iron County Wisconsin will be open. We will once again be having a group attend and certainly I am looking forward to riding over that way again.
Mac the Red Rhino and myself will also be participating in the ride over in Hulbert this year. Will you be attending?

jigginjack,
Good to hear from you. Did the poker run and Drummond last year and had a good time. I've been trying to check out different places in the last year that are a 'reasonable' drive from SW MI. (H/M; Windrock, etc.) and my next trip will probably be up your way with my girlfriend to see what the Hurley area's all about (fall). Just bought a 19' deep 'V'; '94 Lowe with kicker and downriggers; so we'll probably be on the east or west coast of the state most of the summer.
Really looking forward to meeting you guys up there sometime as I have a friend that claims your area puts the rest of our state to shame! Have a great time up at Rich's playground and don't let the Indians in Brimley take all your bar and gas money.
Hope to see you soon,
John
