O.K.

Before I even consider this....

What is the holding capacity of this place??How many acres of riding area/camping? How many people are expected? And what's up with the dude in the mask? If I went and he started doing wheelies by my quad I would have to squash him!!!!! Oh. yea...what time do you have to get there to make sure you can get in??!!!

Tony---still a little bitter.......

Tony...
Its not as bad as the Karnack ride.. And if it is like last year.. we had PLENTY of room between us and the people to our left and right.... And the trails weren't NEARLY as crowded... I would get there on Friday night if at all possible.... or EARLY Saturday morning...(like by 8:00.. and bring ME some donuts and a DECENT cup of coffee and I will get ya in the gate....hahha just kidding..)
But you shouldn't have a problem getting in this one...

I wouldn't bring a sport quad unless you just want to ride the main roads. There are no hills or jumps that I remember.

The guy in the mask? I'll mail you a picture if you want. Just make sure your sitting down...

I used that number you gave me Robert for ETPolaris, and got alhold of them. They told me $990 for the transmission. That's not including the linkage or shift box. He said he didn't have a price for those, and I should probaly look for one on a wrecked quad. He estimated $1400 total parts & labor if I brought it to them. I was expecting a little less cost. I'll have to think about it, just how bad do I want to play in the mud.

Is that with your trade in on your stuff?.. I think it would be better to find a used two speed gearbox and just do the swap yourself... That way if you don't like it.. you can always swap it back...
Just have to keep an eye out on a sunk/wrecked machine.. you will probably have to buy the entire machine and strip off what you want.. I'll try and keep a lookout for one being parted out around here that has the shaft drive front end and chain drive rear end...

I have my doubts about finding a used transmission since it can only come out of a '99+ Xplorer 400 4x4. Nothing else... The linkage & box I am sure I can make work out of somthing else though. Never hurts to look though. I didn't ask about trading in the old transmission. Not sure if they would want a Scrambler transmission with a JBWeld patch over a hole. :-)

I need to look in my shop manual that has all the final drive ratios through the transmission and see what the Xplorer 400 is in high range. I am hoping it's the same as the Scrambler, or maybe a little higher if anything different, but hopefully same and not lower. I still want to be able to slap on my little tires for running around the trails.

I don't know though, $1000 is a lot of money. I could just hop it up and and skim accross the holes? :-) I'll have to think about it some more. Memorial day is still a good ways off, and I made it through most of the stuff last year. Decisions decisions...
