Would like to mention that Taskers Gap is for folks who love ROCKS.
There is a nicer place closer to NC, it is just NW of Lynchburg, VA called South Pedler Mtn. it is off the Blue Ridsge Parkway.
It has about 20 miles of trails, mud holes you can jump into or go around, depending on your mood, ability, desire, or what ever else.
Give it a look, we like it.

I live in the Shenandoah Valley and just rode at Taskers Gap this past weekend. The locals call it Pal Mountain (Pile). I have been through those trails MANY times. You would have a hard time walking over some of those trails without breaking an ankle! There are some smooth parts here and there, along with a fun fire road with lots of water breakers to jump. All and all it is fun, technical and will were you out. If you go make sure you have good skid plates, tough wheels and at least 20" tires in the back.
The Pal mountain trail goes from Edinburg to woodstock. Been through there in 18 minutes. Go give it a try.
