Palm Bay AKA "the compound" is NOT legal to ride. I live very close to there and know a few Bombardier test riders and they say it is land owned by Bombardier if Bombardier employees, management or security see riders on or near the hill or any other Bombardier property Palm Bay PD will be called. I've seen them "run" people off before and they will ticket anyone riding on the pavement that includes crossing it while riding the bike. There is however ALOT of property that is not owned by Bombardier out there. I was advised to stay 50+ acres away "surrounding" the plant unless I was riding with the test riders I know. This is a great place to ride, lots of trails and a few tracks. I suggest staying close to the silos south of the plant to keep out of trouble. I was also advise that the Bombardier area will be totally closed off very soon with chain link fence. Even when you don't see Palm Bay PD out there they just might be, they do patrol the area in undercover cars from time to time. I know this because I'm a local Professional Firefighter-Paramedic and know several PBPD officers. I'm just letting all of you know to keep you out of trouble. Now, if you travel 40 miles north theres a great place to ride in the north end of the county. Its the last exit in Brevard county the "Scottsmore/Edgewater" exit SR 5A. Go to SR 5A make a left and on any weekend you'll see the parking. If interested in better directions feel free to e-mail me.
