The Lonesome Pine Trail Riders are putting on a ride this weekend, October 12, the ride will begin at 9 AM and will involve 6 differnt sets of trails ranging from 3 hours to all day and part of the night. The day will start with a breakfast and be followed by rides and play all day. There will also be mud bogs and hill climbs varying in difficulty from just something to play with to unbeatable, there is even one hill, known as Honda Hill, that no Honda has ever conquered. There will also cash drawings (50/50) and door prizes. At this time participation is estimated to be in the hundreds. This event will also see attendance from state and local government officials who are attempting to pass legislature legalizing the limited use of ATVs on Virginia roads.

Directions: From US460 take state route 680 at Contrary (about half way between Grundy and Richlands), follow Rt. 680 approximately 2.5 miles and take a right on state route 736, follow route 736 approximately 0.7 miles and you will see the unloading area. The route should be clearly marked and for those unfamiliar with the area Rt. 680 is the turn from 460 that is marked for Keen Mountain Correctional Center (don't take any other prison turns). Local law enforcement is agreeing to cooperate in the even that the parking area fills up by allowing ATVs to be ridden to the staging area.
