As some of you may have seen from the main page DEC is proposing a 100 mile trail system for Southern NY. For all that may be impacted by this or any who just wish to voice their opinion on the importance of such trail system please respond. CThorpe- I have been writing and e mailing our state officials constantly pertaining to the lack of legal riding trails here in NY. I wonder if any of the other atv riders who are crying all the time about NO PLACE TO RIDE will do the same. This state will give no one anything unless they ask and demand it. I also wonder how many of these riders in NYS belong to any kind of ATV club? As in all other functioning bodies, 10% of the people do 90% of the work for others! Lets see how many respond to our call to help out the DEC in building new trails for us like they have done for the snowmobilers.If you sit back and don!t try and get behind those trying to establish these trails, then you shouldn!t bitch about having anyplace to ride. As an example- last week our town board banned all atvs from riding on any lands in the town, public or private without the written permission of the owners.On the same hand, the local snowmobile clubs got together and donated 2 ATVs to the Sheriff department to police the snowmobile trails with to catch atvers who illegally ride the snowmobiles clubs trails, even though they don!t own them!!! IIts not going to get any better in this state unless we ALL try and help those who are trying to help us!!!!!!
