dunes are small, but the most important thing to remeber is that the back side of every dune is extremely steep due to the wind blowing in from the ocean, so don't go launching off a dune unless you have scouted it out, have fun

Thanks,

Is it usually usually crowded? We are planning on camping there and I want to find a good spot to set up camp.

its only crowded on holiday weekends, remember you will be camping on the beach in the sand so if you do not have a 4x4 lower your tires to about 15 lbs. of air that way you will not get stuck, alot of people don't lower their air in the tires so you get to watch them get stuck and then bury themselves, its alot of fun to watch, if the tide is high you will be crossing a stream, hopefully the birds will be in the stream that way you can judge how deep it is, if they can walk across the stream you can drive across it. if you have any more questions let me know

Pismo is fun! We're actually headed there next weekend on the 6th! There is a store right off the beach so if you forgot anything, you'll be able to pick it up. Bring lots of firewood to keep warm and just remember to watch the dunes, they aren't big, but they do tend to change daily depending on how much wind they get. It's a fun place, great for adults as well as kids. Have a fun time!

Hey,

I went to Pisom/Oceano. It was a blast. It was a little bit windy but when we woke up in the morning the dunes were freshly groomed for more riding. Great place. Thanks for the info.
