If you take the Wolf Lodge exit and go south around Beauty Bay, then take a sharp left over the cattle guard. A ways in you'll see a forest road off to your left that you can ride quite a few miles until possible snow. (There was some up there the weekend before last). If you go straight on the pavement you will come to a campground on your right which wasn't open at that time. If you go 8-10 miles up the pavement you will hit gravel and then can go left or right. Might be some camping spots up there by next weekend or on that 1st forest road as you came in will be some.
If the weather remains this warm. I might think of camping also. If it's a day ride, thinking of parking at Fourth of July pass. I don't know if there are camp spots in that area. Was only there once and we just kept riding and riding until we had to turn around at half tank.
Does anyone have snow info for areas near Newport or Usk? Good camping/riding up there also.

Ragged;
I got some fairly nice pics of the sunset last night from atop the West Canfield butte. rode up there with my buddy Mike (04 Sportsman 500 HO), and my 13yr old son Dillon. The Canfield trail system is pretty neat and we really like it but Dillon and I are really looking forward to getting into some other areas. I need a decent 4 place trailer. If any of you guys have any recommendations as to who in the area I should get one from, let me know. Right now, I keep my 1995 Polaris parked at Mikes house because we can get onto Canfield right from his garage. I carry my Rincon in the back of my pickup to get to Mikes house. I need a way to haul all three of mine plus Mikes Polaris in order for us to get to any new areas. Mike is a respiratory therapist who works in the pediatric intensive care unit at sacred heart, and I am a respiratory therapist in the cardiac intensive care unit at sacred heart. We could not care less if you wear a helmet, but if you smoke around us, we will pick at you without mercy. Nasty habit that.
I may actually be able to go on Saturday. E-mail me and I will give you my home phone & cell numbers. jnbjcoy@prodigy.net

P.S. that's all the emotion dealies. I wanted to see what they look like.

Well can't go camping this weekend, but riding on Saturday. Has anyone checked the snowpack in the hills if we park at the Fourth of July exit and ride north of the freeway. Those roads go forever and can link up to roads that get to areas north of Wolf Lodge.
Ragged, most of our areas are unfortunately forest roads unless we get to Wallace. I'll keep everyone posted where we plan on for Saturday. We find an occasional trial to ride but it usually comes to a dead end quick. Also, I spoke to a mech at Camp and he said it would probably be about 60 bucks to install the clutch kit since I already have the housing off. He said it "might" get done by Saturday. I've done these before so I have a hard time paying that when all I need is some sort of a press to take the pressure off the secondary clutch so I can get the spring out. Anyone have any ideas? The main nuts holding each clutch in is a 32 or 34 mm, so will end up using a crescent to do that part.
Does anyone know how much snow is north near Newport or Usk?
If all else fails we'll probably end up back near Beauty Bay south of Wolf Lodge.

Thanks Bing! I wish we could post pics right on the thread like we do on http://snowest.com/fusetalk/messagev...hreadid=116224
This is a snowmobile site...Were had over 5000 posts on it last year before the admin. cleaned house from all posts over a year...I have almost 300 pics in that forum...
There are about 50-60 guys on that thread that I ride with from time to time. and we get together in June and Sept. for our 4m partys where the local dealers like Allsport and Camp sponcer the party and bring out the new sleds and donate cool stuff of the drawing....
Im hopeing we can get this thread built up like that! The Puget sound thread Bings on is a big one and its easy to meet new people and explore new areas..
I was able to hook up with some of the Extreme Vidio producers Like Thunder struck...and was able to get in to a vidio that will be released this fall..Its no Thunder struck production but it should be pretty cool!!
My cell is 509-994-3931...Im going to try and check out the camping areas tomorrow and I'll let ya know what I find...

I just uploaded some pics to my profile on the Rincon owners forum. Rincon.atvowners.com Check them out. I know that very few of you here are as advanced and grown in the sport as I am and so you ride inferior brands. LOL just kidding, lighten up!! Anyway, check out some of my pictures. Jay
