Well, Im pretty new to this forum but the snowmobile season is winding down and Im looking for guys that want to ride quads.

I have a 02 500 Polaris Scrambler. I have riddin a sled for 20yrs and love the steep and deep but am new on a quad and am looking forward to finding the good places to ride.

If you you have riddin lately tell us about it where and we will keep this thread going for a place for area riders to gather. It worked well on snowest.com the thread has nearly 10,000 view and 1,500 posts!

Look forward to hearing from you guys, if anybody wants to ride let me know..Im game!

Got a little ride in a few days ago. Great weather but the 4 stroke was not idleing.
every time Id let off it it would die. If I pulled the choke out a little it would run but I have a diffenent problem, any ideas? At full throttle is seemen ok just wouldnt idle.....

Any help would be great.

Your problem with the idle is simple.......IT SOUNDS LIKE A POLARIS! I have a suzuki vinson....and a friend of mine is very jealous because his polaris just doesn't cut it. I think you know what I'm saying.

 

Well, Well, Well! Look who is the first person to post this thead! Well I guess I didnt say any thing about Polaris owners only so a Suzuki guy is alright...especially if its a guy that knows the area mountains like yourself.
It wont be long and we will have to get out and hit the mountains......not those little atv parks! But I know the kids love it and ya just gotta do that sometime. [img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif[/img]
Still havent figured out my idle problem...going to buy a new air filter before I take it to the shop. I talked to a service guy and he thought it would be a easy adjustment.

This seems like a dumb question. But. Did you adjust the idle any higher?

I wouldnt bother choking it, unless you need to start it.

 

Hey forgot to say it still looks like it will be a while before we hit the HIGH country.. I rode in the Troy MT. area yesterday and found over 10' of snow up top!
Great spring riding! Needless to say I was on my sled.. Nearly got into some big trouble up there.. Was running up a shoot that got verrry steep and lost it! The sled was headed for a rock ledge so I bailed off and I ended up falling about 15' bounceing off the ledge and falling anouther 25-30' before I slid to a stop!
Thank God to sled got caught in a tree or it might have come down ontop of me....not good! The only way to get the sled down was to lower it with ropes over the ledge. Then a buddy got on it and we cut it loose......PS no damage to the sled or me...Im glad the Lord love snowmobiling or I would have been in a world of hurt!

Im heading out your way the week after next for a MT. Baker spring ride. That will most likely be the last ride of the season for me. Then bring on the QUADS!
