You know...I was hoping to stay away from "brand devotionals" however, I must say it is refreshing to see our beloved Polaris owners beginning to "see the light". In reality, polaris as a brand has the worst service history in the industry! Oooops....I let that slip out! Anyway...I wouldn't have probably said anything but old ragged in a previous post stated that the Vinson "....was a nice light machine but you better have your winch ready to pull one out...." Didn't that same winch rescue a Polaris Sportsman 700?...hhmmm....very interesting!
#172
Okay okay, so my I have had to use the winch on my 700, it wasn't the quads fault that the driver went where he wasn't supposed to go! When I do do something I give it everything I have. . . if I get stuck and need the winch its because I went farther then someone else did and dug in a little more, it usually driver error. And as for Polaris's serviceability, that is interesting coming from someone who was this close "||" to trading in his zuki for one! Its all good and fun, ride what ever is going to get you where you want to go!

ok boys;
Be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
God loves even the Polaris owners, (I should know, I own one) He just has less prayers of complaint from the Honda owners. yepper uhh yep yep!!!

well.....well.....well......Nice to see you could make it on pastor! I thought for sure I made a few posts earlier that woulda pulled you outta hiding..
You showed good restraint! We need to head back over there soon ..maybe next weekend...your coming over to Kinston area this weekend right?
Mike...you just need to pray for wisdom before you go out for a ride on that thing! Im not kiddin! I luv sleddin cuz it is VERY forgiving! You roll it ..no big deal..pick your self outta the soft snow and tip it back up on its skis and ride away...
You make a mistake on a quad on the rocks and if you dont have to go to the hospitial your bike will..!!!
Im giong to get a Tek vest cuz I like to ride hard but still have a family to feed...Might just get a moto cross vest for now though ..there alot cheeper.
Man I wish you could post pics earier on this 4m! Did any one get to see the pics on the link I put up? I'll have to start a webshots album to post pics....
Jay can you send me some of the pics you took? erpyatt@surfpure.com I still like the Poo's but the big Honda has a great HP to weight ratio! That was evident with the wheelie riddin pics! But I really like the True 4 wheel drive and luv the engin break..It REALLY came in handy saterday!
Im hoping to put a new clutch kit and see if I can pull a little more power out of it...I wounder if on the 4 strokes rejetting will improve preformance?
Oh ya ....this is the first post on my new lap top...Im wireless baby!

Yes! We are still on for this weekend. Both my brother and myself are very much looking forward to it. As I said, because of my moving into God's country...there is TONS for me to do this summer, ( and I haven't even scratched my wifes list yet!), and so what riding I get to do will be highly anticipated. Hey Ragged, with all due respect to Mike...that was some excellent advice. He is without a doubt a great rider however, even the very best make mistakes. I have considered getting some type of body protection. What do you suggest? The ONLY thing that I don't like about the vinson is this...going down very technical terrain is: SCARY! There is virtually no way to keep the back end from coming up and no way to utilize a gear braking system...this is one HUGE reason why I am going to sell this rig. Then comes the real deal:.......the king of all quads. Yes, I know that you are nervous....I feel your pain. See ya.

Ray....Is that Rincon a one lunger? I thought I hear you say that....The Suzuki pastor is talkin about is...It will be VERRY interesting to see what they come out with.....
Pastor....You got all week to work on the honey doos....Saterday is the mans day to play! I was woundering after that last service if I was going to have to seel the quad ....till I thought about it and realized I cant be riding in the mts to much yet....I only have 782 mi on mine! Sombody has put over 2000mi on in less than two seasons....hmmm...Its all good ....I wish I could get away during the week ..but when your commision you just think about all the $$ your missin when your gone...Pluss I gotta save the vacation for huntin season and when family is in town...
I realy dont know much about bikers body armor but a Tek vest is for sledin and might be a bit warm...Moto cross riders wear a type of chest protection that is plastic and might be cooler be from what Ive seen dosent cover as much of your body....I may try to swing by Carls, Allsport and maybe the Helmut outlet and see whats out there....
We Life flighted a guy off the mountain a coulpe months ago with one of 5 broken ribs stickin outta his back!! If he was wearing a vest he coulda just walked away and rode the sled home!!
so what do ya think Arron? You gonna make it out saterday??

Plan on being there somewhere. An old friend of mine called and he and his bud will be camping leaving Fri after work. He was talking about Elsy, but I told him about the snow problem. He is going to call the forest service or something like that to get the lowdown, otherwise I'll have them head north of Kingston and we'll try to find'em. They both only have 2WD. I'm with you. I think still way too much snow!
Ragged, where were you guys riding that has such hairy trails, Canfield? I haven't ridden there for so long I forget even how to get there. I see a guy talking about how his bike wanted to slide out from under, need more engine braking, catching air, etc. Now body armour? Sounds pretty wild!

AJC629...Howdy! I was the one talking about the body armor and the back end wanting to come up. I have a Suzuki Vinson, a great machine to be sure however...I had several close calls last year trying to do some "good riding". I will be getting something else later this year. It is a lighter bike than the Polaris H.O. 500...maybe that is why they don't have that problem. I also lack the compression braking which is one of the best things i have seen in a long time. Does your Honda have that?
Hey Ragged....by no means did I insinuate that you or anyone else should sell ANY of your bikes or sleds....just...exhorting EVERYONE to keep the main thing....the main thing....it's happening!!!I think we would all agree with that. Like I've said....you can have it all except my family.............................and the 4 wheeler. Later

I have an 02 Vinny with a Dalton clutch kit and love it. Bought it used with 125 miles on it with a 50" Moose plow with the hand control, no winch. Love it so far, but have only had it out 3 times and the first two times we barely got any riding in due to too much snow. The last trip we were in the 4th of July area and rode 80 miles, through lots of snow and still had some gas left when we got back to the truck. Haven't experienced any "technical" riding yet, so hoping to find some this weekend. I've got a friend who found out people are getting 2 miles from Lake Elsie and putting up camp Fri night. We'll stop by their camp Sat around 9 or 10am to check it out. Am anticipating too much snow but it's worth a shot, then if so, heading over Ragged's way to camp out Sat night. Sounds like he found some good trails. We rode by a few trying to get to Bumblebee but went below half tank and had to head back I'm guessing about 5 miles from their camp spot. The Kingston exit isn't far from the Big Creek exit so have plenty of time to at least try Elsie first.
Paid 4k with plow. The quad had been wrecked but has been repaired to road worthiness professionally (I think). If I can sell the plow for about $300, $3700 for a practically new quad that sells for $6k new seemed worth it (I hope). With my luck, I hope the thing doesn't snap in half during a hard ride!
My friend bought a new '03 for $5700 from Beaudry and it doesn't feel any different than mine. Anxious to get them on a nice straight shot to drag to see the benefits of the clutch kit. Seems to really get up and go in my opinion. My previous ride was a 99 Polaris Sport 400 2 stroke, so I miss the instant "get up and go"!

Sounds like you got a great deal on your bike....I hope to see how the clutch kit help agenst a stock Vinny. There we be a couple at our camp saterday but I think they are leaving after dinner...and the camp fire of course!
Pastor ..I know what your sayin......I think were gettin a good group a guys here! It will be a fun summer....and its just gettin started....Now if you and Mike can get your Momma doos done during the week we will see alot of new territory!
BTW...Mike PM'ed me a said he just bought a Tek vest....When it comes in I'll need to check it out! Cuz I want one....When riddin quads its either HERO or ZERO...you dont get to make a mistake and get away with it verry ofter in the rocky steep climbs!
