Default RED SANDS RIDE AREA/ ALAMOGORDO

I just read on SportQuad.com that there is a ride area near Alamogordo called red sands. I remember that there was somebody asking about a ride area near Las Cruces. Maybe this is it?
Anybody from the forum ever been there?

Red Sands is in El Paso, TX. It is a small area of sand dunes and is where majority of people in El Paso ride. White Sands is near Alamogordo but I don't think you can ride quads their since it is military property.

This is the only information that I have on this place-- located 25 miles south of alamogordo nm.high desert area. aprox. 100 miles
of single and 2 track trail.plenty of lodging in alamogordo.lots of sand
trails and dunes located on blm land . area is aprox. 5 miles wide x 25
miles long .west side of highway only, US 54
This might be the same place that Iceman is talking about but I'm not sure.

I've been there before. I live in Alamogordo so its one of the closest places for me to ride. It is called Red Sands riding area, White Sands National monument and missile range are also nearby but they aren't open for riding. The area is large mostly consisting of red sand (obviously). The dunes are small, but it is fun even on my utility quad. I'm always looking for riding buddies so if anyone is interested let me know.
