Default Know anything about the ATVA?

Does anybody know anything about the ATV Association (ATVA)? Are they a ligitimate group? From looking at thier web site (http://www.atvaonline.com/index.asp) they seem to be something every ATV'er should be supporting but I've never heard anything about them in the fourms. It's a little pricey to join but if they do what they say they do then I think it would be worth it.

I'm part of it you have to be to race in new england. You get a news letter about every month and thats it for me! I guess the money goes to something good or otherwise it would not be mandatory to join?

As I understand it, it is the same company as the AMA (American Motorcycle Association?), which is a very legitimate group. The AMA is SUPER active in legislation and does a lot for our sport. You have to be an ATVA member to race here as well. I think it's for insurance purposes.

The ATVA is part of the AMA, but geared more to the ATV riders. You have to be a competition member of either the AMA or ATVA to race at AMA-sanctioned tracks. They are really big around here, but then again the AMA corporate office is down by Columbus, Ohio... they fight to keep our riding areas open, promote responsible ATV riding, and organize races to compete in. They are are something every ATV owner should be a part of.

I belong to the atvam (all terrain vehicle assoc. of Minnesota). It is a very legit organization. It is well organized and seems to put you money to good use.
