Default Trails Close To Twin Cities, MN

Greetings,

I am new to the 4 Wheelin' world, and am looking for some places to ride that are close to the Twin Cities a person could get experience on.

Eventually would head further north, but for now I would just like to get my feet wet getting to know my new Kaw Mojave.

Thanks

Honkin

Honkin,

you'll have to look up MudStud. He lives in Hudson as well. There is a place 1/2 hour south of the Twin Cities called Bauer's Pit. 110 acres of anything goes. Just drop the old guy $10, sign a waiver, and ride all day. I almost have the wife talked into another machine, but she doesn't want anything bigger than a 250. So I would be interested in seeing a Mojave in action.

Thanks for the info Lep, that sounds promising as heck. Let me know if you plan on heading down there. Maybe we could meet up.

If I remember right, MudStud said it was about 70 miles. According to the map in Yahoo, it's about 63. I plan on possibly going to Butterfield riding, which is 1 1/2 hours southwest of me (I'm an hour south of Minneapolis). But the next time I go to Bauer's pit, I'll post here. Possibly in 2 weeks.

Honkin,

MudStud and I work together and are good riding buddies.
We actually discussed this morning about heading to Bauers Pit on Saturday. The pit is in Faribault, MN and that's where I'm from too.
I don't see any reason why we wouldn't like to meet you and hook up for a ride Saturday morning. I know MudStud said he might have to leave early, but I'll probably ride until 2:00 or so. We usually start riding about 8:00am, so expect to leave the cities by 6:30am.

If you're interested, drop me a line, and I'll push it off to MudStud to see if he's interested as well.

I would love to go this Saturday, but my youngest one has 2 consecutive soccer games this Saturday (I'm the coach). Then I have to beat a$$ home for my daughter's prom. So, all I have left is Sunday, which will be in Butterfield (unless the plans change).
