Default Running wires for auxiliary lighting

I'm leaning towards adding 2 lights, one on each side of the front cage above the side view mirrors. Do you normally run the wires down the outside of the cage tube or drill a hole and run them on the inside of the tubes?

Inside the cage.. Yes, drill a hole and route through the tubing. Be sure to put rubber gromments at each hole (entry & exit). Most of the time you can take nylon twine, put it in one hole, then use a vacuum to draw (suck) it to the other hole/end. Then use good tape to secure the wires to the twine and pull it back the other way.. Wha-la!
