Default 700 exhaust vibration & overheating

picked up new 700 a few weeks ago. has a vibration, seems to be exhaust related. notice when under slight to moderate load mostly, worse when in 4x4. dealer looked at it and said it was normal. rode in two others that don't do it. muffler seems to rigid to me. anyone else run into this yet?
also on day two and three the engine overheated. not enough to boil over but enought to trip light and could hear boiling. rad was a little dirty from crossing a muddy creek but nothing that should have plugged it. it has not triggered light since but engine sure seems to run warmer than it should. even on light ride on cooler days the rad fan cycles very often. any known problems on this yet?
Thanks for the help...

Misterp,
I had the same deal with my 700. There are two metal heat shields bolted on the the muffler. The bolts get just a little loose and it makes that loud metalic vibration sound at specific RPM's. Just tighten both metal plates on the muffler.

Vibration is more of something that is felt in the seat and steering wheel then a noise. If i grab the back of the muffler and try to move it, it seems to rigid to me. I have not disconnected it yet and tried it as my dealer does not seem to interested in fixing it.

There is a rubber hanger that holds it. If you feel it in the steering wheel and seat how do you know its exhaust related? My does vibrate alot but Im not sure by your description what you are talking about. More details

It has done it from day one. When driving, under a slight load like driving up a hill, it has a harmonic vibration that can be felt anywhere you are touching. Seat, steering etc. You can even see it in my GPS that is mounted to the dash. If you put it in 4X4 its is worse. You can feel it, but not as bad sitting still and reving up the engine. I am a master car mechainc by trade but have not worked on ATV''s before. If i had to compare it to a car I would say the the exhaust is not insulated well enough, and the natural engine vibrations are being transmitted to chassis. My polaris is as smooth as can be, and you can not tell it when 4X4 engages. I have rode in a 660 and 450 rhino that is smooth as well.

I don't have the vibration but I do have a very hot bed. I cannot touch the front side nearest the seats for very long without getting a burn. Anyone notice this kind of heat? It is only three days old.

I installed a windshield and had to move it up and leave the lower panel off. when it was on the engine cover would get so hot you could bake a meatloaf. and the bottom of the bed is very hot as well.
