grizzly blew up
#13
My 03 GRIZZLY 660 (at 500 km on odometer) rear diff locked up while going 60 km/hr on flat sand. I had to pull it backward in reverse with some revs on the engine and it freed up. I had to then go 40 km to get out of the bush (deep boonies) at 20 km/hr and the rear diff was smoking hot all the way. I had to poor water on it every 5 km to keep it cool enough. I'm taking it back to dealer today (still under warrantee, thank #^*&), but I'm not impressed. (Yes, there was the proper amount of factory oil in the diff)
I ran into another guy on the same trail, same machine, mileage etc and he had the exact same problem. In fact he told me about the backward pulling out trick (other wise Id still be in the bush)..
Anyone else have the same problem. This can't be a coincidence. I would expect there should be a recall on something in the 03 rear diff's. I know several others with 02 models, with 6000+ km, and no problems.
I like the machine, but now Im scared to take it out in the boonies. Will this happen again?
I'm confused??
