Default grizzly blew up

my 2002 yamaha grizzly 660 exploded. the engine got seized right up. I think it
might be because i took of the rev limiter that controls the rpms in high range

Thats the first I've ever heard of. What were you doing when it seized? Flat out?

PS- time for the 686

I really want to know more about the engine sieze.

How did you bypass the top-end rev limiter? I have bypassed the reverse RPM limiter, but i cant imagine gone fast enough/long enough in reverse to blow it up...lol

That does suck that the engine siezed, but i really would like more details of how it happened, as i am sure others would too. That way, we can keep from doing it ourselves.

Were you on a straight stretch? How fast were you going? What type of riding were you doing that day? Do you change the fluids/how often? Were you in 4x4/4x2? What was the temp that day? How was the engine temp? Do you still have fluids in the bike (oil/water)? What do the fluids look like now?
Did the temp light ever come on? etc etc etc.

Please help us understand exactly what happened so that we can keep from doing the same thing.

seems kind of odd to me, lol. if you found out how to bypass the top rev limiter, you have done something shops cant pull off. but, it seems like most of your posts are odd sounding to me.

I really hate when someone makes a statement like that and then doesnt back it up with facts!!!!

If he is BS'n, then he needs to be booted off the forum.....Grrrrr

LOL,

Nice to see the rest of you on here....i have been gone for a while...snowed in! hehe

Have clocked over 4000 miles on the grizly's without much going wrong.....(except for what i have done to them....like wreck'n!).

We are moving soon. I am heading to central IL, on the state line of IN for a year or so. Then we are moving to Florida. I just hope that everywhere i go, i can find good places to ride!
