Default Boost Bottles

Hey Guys,
I need some help. I got some motor work done on my blaster this winter andd they put a boost bottle on it. Well I blew up that motor and now I am putting in a 240 kit. I needed it for this weekend as I am racing. The mechanic at the shop that insisited to get the boost bottle put on in the first place is not putting it onto the 240 kit. He says it is running to lean does anyone know of this problem or should it not be a problem. If it is running to lean there might be a leak in the housing or what.
Thanks in advance.

I'm not too sure why a single cylinder needs a boost bottle. I thought they were used on twins so one cylinder could draw from the other carb. It could be a super whammy speed secret, or it could be more hype that is swamping the atv market.

Hello Guys,
All I know is that it did wonders for the Blasters original motor after it was P&P. There was a noticable difference on the motor but now I am going to the 240 kit so I would expect the same. I was jsut wondering why the mechanic did not want to pumt it in as he said it would burn to lean.

I am yet to get a clear specific answer as to what a boost bottle even does.

Here we go i think i can explain this pretty well....well i cant but this is from the toomey racing site, they explain it pretty well.

This is the explan. of what it does for a banshee, but the concept is the same...........

Ok when running dual carbs, there must be the cross-over tube, but the engine couldn't care less how big it is.... this tube is used to communicate the volume information from side to side, not to magically "store-and-forward" mixture for later use, as some have claimed. Nor is it able to allow mixture to be drawn from both carbs at once..... So the "Boost Bottle" as a performance product is a complete placebo and only serves the manufacturer's pocket, not the customer's needs. Beware of companies who sell this kind of thing, they are not being true.

So basicly in my own opinion after reading this and some other things about boost bottles, they may help when using dual carbs they may not, but the blaster only has a single carb, so really IMO there is no gain at all, again IMO it does nothing at all and was probably just a wast of money. Ive seen the boost bottle for the blaster its a little bottle hooked to a piece of hose, i do not see how it could cause any gain for anything.

There was a very good thread about this subject on BansheeHQ. Someone there explained that boost bottles will work, if you custom build them for your engine.
