Default Pro Flow Adapter?

Is there a difference between the foam and K&N adapters? If so what?

The inside of the foam filter adapter is straight through and the one for the k and n adapter is angled different around the bottom in the inside to funnell the air flow differently. The diemensions were you mount the filters are the same. I have the k and n adapter. SLIM

I thought I seen somewhere that the foam has a larger flange diamiter and the filters won't interchange.??

I've never actually measured them so I could be wrong but I have seen both and the inside of the k and n adapter is different. Even if the diameter is a little bigger you can probably still use both filters on either one of the adapters. One would fit right and the other you would either have to tighten down on it more or play with it to get it to fit on the flanges. Depends on which adapter you have. Hope this helps. SLIM

I use the pro-design adapter and use both filters with no problems. Got it from Rocky Mtn.

The K&N adapter has smaller diamater flange holes to fit the smaller diameter K&N outlets.

The foam filter has large holes.

If you have the K&N adapter, the K&N and the foam will fit since it has the smaller holes. You've got to wrench down on the clamps for the foam filter pretty good to get it snug but it will fit.

If you have the foam adapter, only the foam will fit since it has the large diameter holes. The K&N won't fit because the outlet holes on the filter are too small to go over the larger holes on the foam adapter.

So, if you have the K&N adapter you can use both K&N and foam. If you have the foam adapter, you can only use the foam filter.

Slappie, this is true, sort of. I have one of each and the K&N will fit on the foam flange, it takes a bit of coaxing. The foam will fit loosely on the K&N flange but once the clamps are tight all is good.

I called a dealer about one of those, he said NOT to get the K&N version because dirt and debris will tear up the gauze filter and cause holes.
Can anyone pull a BS flag on that for me?

I can, just buy an outerwear and you will be fine dude. I have had mine on for 3 weeks and yet to have to clean my K&N.
