Default Warrior problems...need some help.

I have a 98 Warrior. Its stock except for a DG full exhaust and K&N filter. It has a 152.5 jet in it. it has a problem on the idle to mid range. It ackfires through the carb? What casues this? Wide open it runs great. But down low has a few problem. Is the jetting off? An air leak somewhere in the intake or exhast side? Any suggestions.

Someone may correct me if I am wrong but I believe this to be true. In jetting issues, if it backfires through the carburetor it usually related to a lean jetting condition, if it backfires through the exhaust it is related to a rich jetting condition. This is just basic information, but that has been my experience.

I would look at adjusting my fuel screw and/or pilot jet to remedy the situation. You might try raising the needle one or two positions (done by lowering the clip position). Alot will depend on your needle taper. The taper you have will be embossed on your needle. If you have to change it more than two positions you should really look at focusing in the other aspects of the jetting. You might contact Sudco Carb stuff! They are usually very helpful. Be sure and have all your jetting info for them and your elevation, temperature, and things like that which will affect your jetting. Good luck!

I am on my first quad (96 Warrior) but have had plenty of 4t motorcycles and even more 2t motorcycles and this is based on my experience with them.
