Default Gearing with 22" tires

If I put on a 22" Rear Tire should I put on a 12 toothe front sprocket or a 41 or 42 toothe sprocket in the rear.I will be keeping stockers in the front for now. My sig. has my mods done so far.
Thanks

It's cheaper to change the front so that's usually where I experiment. I think it depends on what type of riding you prefer. I'd guess go 12 for tight stuff, 13 for more open (top speed needed)....use this chart to get a feel for the impact of changing the sprockets.

Ratio Chart - Sidewinder Sprockets.

I ride mostly trails with rocks and a bit of mud. I need more out of the hole. Thanks for the chart. From some of the searches I've done seems to me everyone mostly goes 1 toothe down on the front. That is what I will probably do.
Thanks

1 tooth down in front should compensate for the 22" tires and put ya pretty close to the same gearing as if ya had 20" rears - roughly. Plus - it's cheap ! I run stock gearing with 22s and it's pretty "long-legged" but I ride mostly desert/dunes so I enjoy having the top speed.
