I know alot of you remember the break in secrets thread. Has anybody else read much of this guys work? I spent a few hours last night reading everything this guy has written. Come to find out he is not a complete idiot like I previously thought after reading that. Alot of his stuff makes sense. I don't know if it is true, but it does raise some question. If you are curious check it out and read what he has to say, its good reading anyway.Mototune

I've read Mototune, and I subscribe to his break in secrets mostly. I broke my quad in harder than most would but not quite as hard as he said. I rode for what i thought was 20 miles going up and down in the gears reving each gear up to at least 3/4 of the rpm's and letting it decelerate on its own as often as I could. Then I spent a day at the dunes riding it pretty hard and drag racing it up comp hill several times. I don't believe there is any reason to baby it. But I wouldn't rev the crap out of it either for a while anyway. jmo

Was the 20 miles your break in time before you would pin it?

My aprox 20 miles of mountain trail riding/dirt roads useing the gears up and down as much as possible was what i considered my break in. At the dunes I rode as i normaly do fast and hard (at least as fast and hard as my fear factor will allow) and took in some comp hill drags (dumont)

I would like to try his break in method, but my better instincs say no, and so does Mr. Craycraft.

Some of the other stuff he talks about is really neat. Try reading some of his high velocity porting stuff.
