Default diff lock light staying on,grizzly 660?

I Bought a Grizzly 660 in march this year, It has been a good machine, besides buying the atv, I also bought the Grizzly 660 CD rom, Available on the Yamaha web site, there is a lot of good info. pertaining to the operation, parts breakdown, service, and a very good troubleshooting guide, sounds to me that either the servo assembly that unlocks the locking collar is not completely releasing, or the switching mechanism that opens a signal to the control is still electrically closed, by the way when the diff. lock was engaged and you were pulling a heavy load, did your atv make a popping sound from the front end, as if there was something not quite engaged, but everything was fully locked in? it did this only once when I was in some sand, I as giving it half throttle, Please respond.

If I remember right , I was in 2wd when the light came on, if I had it in 4wd I know I did not have the diff lock on! I was riding normal on some hilling terrain and not pulling anything. I have one of those CD on order, should be getting it soon!

You would have had to been in 4wd to get to diff lock. There is the levered window, that you have to move to get at the diff lock switch and it can't move out of the way, unless it's in 4wd. Check the easy stuff first, tires all same air pressure, meaning is the drivetrain loaded. Pressure on the mech. so it can't spring out of lock, and 4wd. I have a the cd manual too, it's very good, but don't buy it off ebay, it's been copied, theft! I shoot thieves. Anyway back to your problem, give more info. These problems are rarely serious.

Please don't take this wrong any of you.....I have been riding ATV's for 25 years I know how to ride them and OPERATE them, I did not have the DIFF LOCK engaged when the light came on! And as for the copied CD, the ad does not say its copied, so I will soon find out? If it is copied someone is going to be in DEEP @#*!!

I have the same problem, On my grizzly the light stays on for 4 wheel drive aand it's stuck going 20 miles away I believe it's an electrical problem if anyone has advice or if moparman1989 has found the solution or even schematics I would appreciate it I have a manual but it only says what to do if the light doesnt come on
