broken tie rod?

Well my cuzin got an idea to switch the tires so the vale stems were on the inside making it wider. He is about 226lbs and he jumped his blaster. THe gap was about 20 ft. When he landed the tie rod broke. Is this from the stress. Or from switching the tires?

the flipped rims will put more pressure on the a-arms, and I guess they could hurt the tie rods but I would think it would have bent the a-arms first. Unless ofcourse he had a rough landing and causing the wheels to jerk in a certain direction or something like that. If the tie rods completely broke (and not just bent) then they were prolly going to break sometime soon anyways. Most of the times, tie rods will bend front impacts to the front of the tire, like hitting a tree or big rock, rather than from just landing hard.

Yeah, thats prolly what did it. When I was on quads, I never had problems and I raced for over a year. Some of those races were in the Int. class so I have definitely put mine to the test and they didn't break.
Did you completely break them in half, or just bend them. If they are just bent, you can bend them back and they will hold up aight. If they keep bending afterwards though, then you should go ahead and replace them.
P.S. Me and YoDaddy are the same person.... I have different screen names on different computers.
