Sand Dunes in Colorado?
I think walden is probably the closest, but I have never been so cant help on that. Little sahara utah is definately worth traveling to go to, it is near delta utah, or nephi.
Rock springs has some dunes that are pretty good, but it is probably pretty far from colorado springs, so I would say little sahara utah probably the closest large dune area.

There are some awesome dunes near alamosa!
Problem is the enviro-**** tree huggers got to them first! But you can sure hike all over them and have fun!!!! (YEAH RIGHT!)
Can you tell I'm a little bitter about making ever-shifting sands off limits to motorized vehicles!?!?!?
Walden is your only other choice...
