Now that you say something about the exhaust, maybe it's not the five valve motor. Raptor has two head pipes. I haven't looked at the YZF dirtbikes that close..

The YZF's only have one headpipe. (99% sure)

 

It would be less restricted, and let more exhaust flow out and keep it from overheating quicker.
