Stock for Stock your dreamin'. With the drop in price for the Raptor and the higher price for the 450 that says the Raptor is not their flag ship sports quad any more the 450 is. If the hp is even close the weight and handling difference will more than make up the difference especially if your talking all around not just drag racing. I don't think that if the 450 has the same hp or more than a stock Raptor that a it would loose in a drag race either considering the weight difference.

The weight thing is very, very big. Where I ride, St Anthony dunes, I can jump on a stock Raptor and make it at best 2/3 up Devil's dune. Kid right next to me, probably 40-45 lbs less, drives up over the top on same machine. That's the weight diff between Rappy and 450. Really comes into play. The next factor is good ol cubic dollars.........

I agree that the Raptor will always have more potential if you not afraid to spend money. The thing is to get that power to be useable in different situations you would still have to consider the 450's suspension, wider stance and lower seat height as well as weight. If you did all these mods to a Raptor you would be spending a lot more cash. If your out in the dunes where it's a lot more open it might not be as noticeable but on the mx track, flat track or in the woods it would be huge.

Well i think the Raptor is still a strong quad but that 450 must be darn near unbeatable if it is being compared to a 660. I dont think we should compare quads when they havent even came out yet, who knows it may be a piece of crap for all we know! On a side note, has anyone sent a pic to the mags? I would but I am technologicly ignorant so I dont know how.

Stock I bet the 450 will come out ahead, but with mods the raptor.

i agree with dirt diggler. interesting, if you took off the front headlights it would look a bit like a 250R. i'm curious to see how it compares to the rest. ...still waiting for a 50hp quad that weighs 350lbs.

It would be hard to say wich quad would come out on top in my opinion. I love the power of the Raptor and enjoy it more than anything i've ridden everytime I get on it. I do think it will be tough for the raptor to win in a drag race stock for stock. If you modify both bikes I still think it will be close. One thing I know for sure; unless they put a 9000 rpm rev limiter on the 450 it will definitely out rev the raptor hands down because the dirtbikes with this motor rev very very hard. Well know before long wich quad will be the one most will love to have but it will always be some disagreement among some of which quad is the best. There is know way everyone will agree on the same quad in being the best. I say ride what you love and enjoy but I am anxcious to ride one. I love something new like the 450; it gives more variety to the atv industry. I give it two thumbs up!!! SLIM
