YFZ450 vs Raptor
Once you invest in equal technology, the Raptor will still be an open class machine and the YFZ won't be able to keep up unless the track is really tight. With that said, it looks like it's going to take less money to reach the full potential of the YFZ since Yamaha gave racers such a head start. I'm not selling my Raptor but I may buy a YFZ to race with the little guys:-) If a 440 could really compete with a 686, AMA would not have so many different classes. Hmm, maybe a Raptor 686 in a YFZ chassis?:-)
How cheap are K&Z 400s going to be this summer? You guys think the bottom fell out of the EX400 market???:-)
Two thumbs up for Yamah, one for the Raptor and one for the YFZ!!

You buy it for $6800 put the titanium pipe on for $500 and put in a better flowing filter for $30 - $40 and rejet for $10 and even if you did the same to the Raptor it would still be heavier, narrower (if that's a word) and have a higher seat height with lesser suspension. The money you would spend on chassis mods for the raptor would make it more expensive and it would still be much heavier and still have that weird shift linkage design that I don't understand. I'm not nocking the Raptor we have a new riding buddy who has one and so does Jmoney45's neighbor Mark. I was impressed with the power and it's delivery I just didn't care for the chassis set up and I understand that can be fixed but the weight wont be as easy. My point is it would cost you more money in the end to get the same all around performance out of the Raptor as the 450.
