Default Go juice for 12:1 686?

I just went through a big learning process when switching from regular gasoline to 100% VP Red (105) race fuel. Bottom line, check those floats!!:-)

What fuel are the rest of you running? Stock carbs or aftermarket? What are your settings? Did you try other fuels and what were the results?

Me - 12:1 JE, stock valves, Hotcams II with Kibblewhite springs, Craycraft porting/coating, stock carbs, mikunit jets and needles. At 70 degrees and sea level, I'm running 195/200 mains, needle clips on 3rd groove, 27.5 pilots, AF screws slightly under 2 turns with straight VP Red (105). I haven't tried other race gas yet but I have a 5 gallon can of VP C12 that's next.

Thanks a bunch!

I have close to the same engine set up, 11/1 and my porting, and I have 185/190s in the carbs now. I "think" I am lean. I haven't really had a chance to do much jetting, because of ordered parts and that oil leak. The inside of my head pipe is very light colored and the inside of my exhaust intakes are black. That kinda confused me but.... I have to get these floats before I can do much. I should get my needle and seat tommorrow, and hopefully get started tuning it in.

185/190
3rd clip on the stock needle
27.5 pilots
screws at about 2.75 turns out
