Does anyone know if there is a decibal level restriction at Glamis? If so, what is it? THanks!

Same as anywhere else in California, but, it's never checked. Not sure of the actual number.

I know only one group that was checked, in the San Bernardino National Forest. They couldn't complete the test though, because of high winds.

Some explain to me how "Loud Pipes Save Lives". All you people are quoting is some saying street bike riders have been saying for years. The only way a loud pipe will save your life on the street is if you buzzing down the freeway right next to some stupid person in a car and they decide they want to be in your lane more than you do. In reality you should be going faster than traffic. I've ridden on sport bikes for 5 years now and I know how it is. Loud pipes in any offroad setting is just nothing but noise.

i am going to be in the market for a pipe for my YFZ 450 when my atv gets here, and this time i will be buying a quiet pipe, like 95 dbs or less, there is no reason to have a bike that is super loud and only puts out like 1-2hp more, some things people say that i dont agree with would be, LOUD PIPES SAVE LIVES, LOUDER IS FASTER, o and LISTEN HOW FAST THAT IS, my current ride is a pro circuit piped banshee and it is a little loud but nothing like my friends CT piped raptor, that thing is anoying, so bring on the sound restrictions it will force companys to find a way to make power with out being loud. just my opinion, not trying to pick a fight. thanks dave

DunePilot858 - As from your name I presume you goto the dunes and know about razorbacks and all the other hills. And you should know that the whips are supposed to show if someone is on the other side... well if your going over 20mph that whip is pretty much usless, and thats where the loudness of your pipe comes in handy. Unless your deff (sp?) you should be able to hear 100db's through your helmet.

I think in the Dunes a loud pipe would allow someone to notice you even if they can't see you. (on the other side of a hill that you might be going over!)
