Default Raptor vs Warrior

Hey Guys,

I was just comparing the dyno charts of the Raptor and Warrior last night, and found that according to FMF's dyno, stock for stock, the raptor only has about 5 hp on the Warrior over the bottom, and middle of the power band, and the only real difference is that the power band is wider at the top, and it rev's slightly higher...

Am I missing something? I have a warrior, and I can't get the thing to wheelie without reefing on the handlebars, and Raptors wheelie without any effort at all. Supposedly raptors will kick EX400's butts, and the 400 will kick a warriors butt... But it doesn't seem like 5 hp would make that much difference...or does it?

I was shocked when I saw this... I mean, the Raptor is almost twice the displacement of the warrior... I expected a lot more than 5 hp difference!

Any input greatly appreciated!

A Warrior has around 18-20 hp a raptor has around 34. Thats around 15hp difference which, if it was a car, would be around 150. Also a warrior has a heavy front end so its not the greatest wheelie machine. But it is good at hills.

Ive owned both a Warrior and Raptor. The hp numbers quoted earlier are accurate. Translating that to riding feeling, the warrior isnt even close to the raptor. If you want to wheelie and rip up the hills, sell the warrior and get one of the large displacement 4 bangers or the banshee, or go get a nice 250R, you wont be disappointed.

I just looked at their website. Someone was smoking a little something when they posted the dyno charts. The Warrior does NOT produce the kind of power their chart shows. I doubt a 435 stroker on alchohol would produce 32HP as the chart showed. I think they put the wrong chart with the Warrior name. I'd check other sites for more realistic Warrior dyno charts. The Warrior is more in the 18-20HP class.

Thanks for the info guys.

15-20 hp sounds more reasonable... I can't imagine having double the displacement, and only getting 5 hp gain... I've never ridden a Raptor, but am eagerly saving up to buy one. Though the new YFZ450 sounds like a wild ride, I think I'd rather have the all around torque of a big-bore.

When I saw those dyno numbers, I was ready to give up on the Raptor, and just try souping up the 'ol wagon.

Do you have any other sources for Warrior dyno's?
