The CRF is NOT high maintenance........My friend has an 02 that's over a year & 1/2 old & it still runs great. Also, My YZ 426 owners manual says the same thing about replacing rings. They say these things to save their own rear ends...someone brings a bike in with a shot motor to a shop & they'll say " well did you follow the owners manual guidelines on piston & ring replacement??" Keep fresh oil in them & a clean air filter & you can go years on a top end...just like my 426.

Hi ive been riding a warrior for sum time now, i ride my dads raptor alot and drag race it but it pulls a wheelie off the start which looses me about 3 seconds off the line, does anyone think the YFZ-450 will be the same way or stay down off the line. This quad sounds great cant wait to get mine.
Thanks

Keep in mind that just because your friend doesn't rebuild it doesn't mean what he is doing is correct. Honda recommends it to keep it at it's peak performing level. If you friend isn't capable of pushing the bike to it's limits which there is nothing wrong with he isn't going to have this problem like a pro racer would. Pro rider or not ATV's are harder on engines because they are heavier over all with a heavier drive train. I'm not saying it's junk hell I'm a Honda fan they just haven't built the quad I really want and I have had 2 Hondas. Honda admits this openly so your point in defending it as untrue makes no sense.
