Air, your right thanks for your unbaised response, what should I consider or need to know before choosing the place. There is a local performance shop that ports but there main gig is 2 strokes but said they would do 4 strokes too but I dont know how much different the two are? I will pull my head off tonight and either pack it and ship it off or just that it to the local shop but either way i need more info so it gets done right the first time.

Hiram- Air is semi right as usual. Jeery Craycraft has done cyclinder heads only for 30 plus years.

Now who ever you use and chose i would try to chose a shop that
1. Only one guy does all the port work (craycraft, sparks, Four stroke tech, robertson) I am sure there are others
2. They have a automotive back ground and run the tracks them self
3. Talk to customers
4. Set relistic goals for the end product. You have to be able to fine tune yourself after you get the pieces
5. pm some forum users with built motors and ask what they did not like or wish they had done different
6. Try to ride with a group that has many built raptors and the choices get pretty clear pretty fast.

The name of the shop who did my porting is RPM (Rhom Performance Machine). They are located here in N. California. The Guys name is Billy Rhom and he is known for Street bike and Drag bike Motors. He did a excelent job and was reasonably priced . around $300 His # is (530) 674-9123.

Ive never known anyone that got there port work done by ray (performance). I know someone has a raptor that has had it done around us but havent seen him. It claims only a 1 hp gain on his site Performance atv racing. Its a pretty reasonable pric but i think u should get it done sumwhere else then again I might be wrong.

I am very happy with my CrayCraft engine...

The end decision is up to you , but be sure, for your sake, that you do your research. I wouldent have chose anyone else, and i wanted someone that was close to there clientel, and i found one and the bike is fast as hell..
