My shee responded GREAT with the gear change. I really hated these new 6 ply 20 inch shredders I got because coming off 22 inch ballons, the gearing didnt feel the same. I felt that 1st gear maxed out way too early. So I decided to go with a 17-41 gearing. It makes the gears ALOT more useable. My first gear can bascially go anywhere from 2mph to 25 mph. Since I put in my 1/2 inch reed spacers, it did increase the bottom end. I noticed a good change while trail riding. But since I changed the gearing, I bascially fell in love with my shredders. They do what they are named, they SHRED. They work pretty well on all conditions except very loose sand. And then even in those loose sand conditions, I can still manage. For the bottom end your looking for your going to want to go with a 420cc stroker kit. Talk to RoostKing, he has that kit in his, and he said it feels like 4 stroke bottom end with 2 stroke top end. If I had money, Id very well buy that kit in a heart beat. I guess just get comfterble on it before you do any mods. I was so scared of mine when I first got it. But then I got used to the power, and used it to my advantage. I remember the first time I rode in this gravel pit I always rode in with my 3 wheeler, I wouldnt ever ride it in the power band. But now I realize that the shee is ment to be ridden in the powerband, and it bascially thrives in it. It is going to take a while to get used to the power, but im sure your going to LOVE IT. Its bascially like a switch is being hit when it hits about 6500 rpms. It kicks in so hard, it doesnt even feel right.
oh and about frame polishing, it would be stupid. Not only would it rust and corrode in about 2 seconds, but it would be nearly impossible to get into all the knooks and crannys to make it look ok. and not to mention its FRICKING steel. Ive tried to polish steel, and it has none of it. I took 1000 grit on a power sander to this flat piece of steel in a feeble attempt on making a cool grill. Well 6 hours and about 5 pieces of sand paper later, it really looked no different. Maybe chrome it, that would look sick.

Hell no man! The only gear I cant pull a wheelie up in now is 6th. I can ride them from 1st and shift all the way to 5th. But they are INSANE fast speed, so its pretty scary. I had a bad accident back about 4 months ago where I flipped a 3rd gear wheelie over at about 40-45, and it fliped end over and end. I ended up with all 4 wheels bent, bent axle, broken plastic, and a killed on/off switch. It was NO fun to say the least.

I think that I would buy it for around $1000.00 if that, I'm honestly amazed at how many people out there think that a 16 year old Banshee is worth so much money. ( Present company excluded ) I just my 01 Banshee for $3,800.00 and it only has 40-45 hours on it and everything listed below, I think that I got a pretty good deal but when I look in the Cycle Trader, I see all these 87-90 Banshee's that people are looking to get $ 3,500.00-$7000.00 for, when the reality is that it doesn't matter what work you have done to it or how much chrome you've put on it, it's still over 10 years old,and if its been in the sand theres going to be a lot of stuff that needs replaced, seals bearings ect, not to mention the fact that its an old bike and it's not made of Gold. If anyone agrees with me on this I would be curious to hear about it or is this just an Oregon thing on these over priced used bikes?
