Default Raptor Rev Limiter

Anyone have a problem with hitting the rev limiter in 5th gear? I was racing last weekend and several times ran into the rev limiter. Don't really wanna change my gearing....13/42 with 22" Shredders is nice for my type of riding. How far does the DYNA let the Raptor rev? It would be nice too disable the rev limiter. Anyone have thoughts?

This sort of runs in the same caterogory so I will add it here. I ran across a nice gearing speed chart from our member "Eaglecollector". It's on the lower bottom of the page....just pick your machine and change gearing accordingly for your set-up......pick here

I think its Dune Devil that knows alot about them. They sound like a killer package. They send it to you with 10 installed ign. curves. You pick from the 10 and have it installed on a push button thumb switch. Say pick curve #4 for normal racing and a different curve, maybe the one for the best hole shot, and put it on the thumb button for the start. I think I saw were they will also take the rev limiter off, I think.

I think its Russell Karting that carries these.

The limiter in 5th must REALLY be haulling butt.

Thanks Ward...I appreciate the info....thats what I am looking for....
CTraptor.....this is a long straight....easily an 1/8 mile for the Raptor too stretch it's legs. If you have ever hold a Raptor wide open you can hear the rev limiter limiting the engine at 9000 rpm's....very distinct. The engine does'nt run smooth at this point since it can no longer gain rpm's....I have no tach, but after riding my Raptor since Sept of 2001, know when I am against the rev limiter. My Rap is mild with a no lid, stage 1 cam, 10.75/1 je, powerbomb header mated too an open end cap e-series. I use DJ needles and 187.5-190 Mikuni mains around sea level....jetting is spot on.

Garyc.... I am going to try to look into that Vortex CDI myself, and will post if I find anyting... Let me know if you do, I have been looking at the DYNA but at 410$ I want to see if there are any better option out there!

Ow and like Gary says CT trust me when you start dipping into the engine you will hit the rev limiter quick even in 5th gear. I am running a 14:38 and if you got the cahones then you can hit the limiter in a hurry!
