i have a stock 01 raptor.i use it in the dunes and would like to increase hill climbing power.is it better to drop a tooth on the front sprocket or add 3 to the back?
if you do add 3 to the back does the stock chain work?

It makes more sense to me to change the front sprocket for about $15 versus the rear for $40. If you have the money I would suggest a pipe and rejetting to gain more power throughout the powerband. But for the money, lowering the front sprocket a tooth will give you lower gearing throughout.
